You'll graduate with a qualification that is of the HIGHEST standard of any accredited Diploma in Counselling available in Australia today...

AIPC's Diploma of Professional Counselling is a qualification that's extremely well regarded in counselling circles across the country. Our graduates are highly sought after and earn the respect of their peers for their skills and problem solving abilities. Why?

  • The Diploma is a Nationally Recognised Training Program under the Australian Qualifications Framework (Australia's government body responsible for accrediting training courses).

  • Upon graduation you'll be qualified to immediately register with Australia's leading member Association (Australian Counselling Association) as a registered and qualified counsellor.

  • The 22 Unit course has been painstakingly developed and refined over 19 years in close consultation with industry leading professionals and employers of counsellors. Together with completing written units, you also complete 10 practical days.

  • This is where you'll demonstrate your skills and apply what you've learnt in 'real life' counselling scenarios. You'll find the experience extremely empowering and rewarding. Of course, if you're studying externally and can't physically attend the practical days there are several alternate means to learn and apply these skills.

Article: An Introduction to Pre-Marriage Counselling

Published: Edition 77

In Australia, over 40 per cent of all marriages end in divorce over a 30 year period, and marriage rates have dropped to the lowest rate they have been in one hundred years (ABS, 2007).

Somewhere around one million people in Australia have experienced divorce. The costs associated with divorce, including social security payments and court proceedings, run close to a staggering 3 billion dollars a year in Australia alone (Owen-Brown and Booth, 2003).

Divorce has recently been reported to be the number one 'wealth buster' of all the financial hazards in life (Featherstone, 2006). Divorce and separation can be damaging in many other ways. There is an increased risk of serious mental health problems and physical illness for both men and women divorcees.

There are also higher fatality rates among divorcees from things such as malfunctioning auto immune systems, suicide and even automobile accidents (Gottman, 1998). Other studies have found correlations between marital separations and alcoholism, anxiety and eating disorders (Fincham & Beach, 1999).

Tired Of Expensive Hotel Bookings, Inconvenient Flight Schedules, Traffic Jams, Bad Conference Seats And Waiting Months For Events You Want To Attend?

With Counselling Academy, all you need is a computer with internet connection. You have the flexibility you want to fit your professional development around your life - and not the other way around. That means more time with your family, clients and friends when they need you.

Professionally Developed Programs

We understand the necessity to deliver high quality training as well as providing a practical platform to access it. That's why we employ a team of professionals (mostly with Masters and/or PhD qualifications) to develop courses non-stop.

For this reason, numerous Associations around Australia recognise Counselling Academy training for PD Points, including Australian Psychological Society (video workshops) and Australian Counselling Association.
