I have always enjoyed working with people and counseling just became
a natural progression as well as providing me with a rewarding career
option. I was initially concerned as I had not studied for some 30
years but the staff at my Student Support Centre, the Education
Advisers and everyone associated with AIPC were always supportive and
helped in any way they could. It only took a few weeks before I gained
the confidence and momentum to begin enjoying studying and the
challenge it provided.
I loved every moment of being a student and the knowledge I was
accumulating. I now regularly attend seminars and courses that
compliment my counselling knowledge. The course materials provided were
comprehensive and easy to understand, and being able to submit my work
via the internet was terrific. I also liked that I could undertake
Advanced Study Majors in the areas I found most interesting such as Grief
and Loss, Relationship Counselling and Conflict Resolution. As I was still
working, being able to undertake the course at my own pace was a huge
bonus. It really took the stress out of studying.
Since graduating with from AIPC I still keep in touch with my Student
Support Centre and have nothing but praise for their support and very
practical advice especially in helping me establish my own business. I now
operate a counselling practice from my home, and am extremely happy that I
took the step to gain my Diploma with AIPC. I would suggest to anyone
thinking about doing the same to get in touch with their nearest Support
Centre if they have any questions. I am sure they will be as helpful to you
as I found them to be.
