Don't give up hope! I left school in year ten with the belief that I did not
have the academic ability or potential to pursue my
dreams.
It was not until thirteen years later that Fate opened the door to the Australian
Institute of Professional Counsellors, presenting me
with the opportunity of making my dreams become a reality!
At first there was a lot of self doubt with my capabilities, but as I progressed
through my modules I received an enormous amount of
encouragment and student support. The feedback from
my assignments were indeed positive and constructive,
this powerful combination fuelled my newly formed attitudes
towards the realisation of my academic abilities.
Three quarters into my Diploma and having completed the required seminars,
which I found invaluable. I volunteered my services
with Drug Arm as a Phone Counsellor. I found the experience
to be rewarding and challenging, thus gaining confidence
in my abilities and newly developed skills.
Within a month of completing my Diploma I have obtained the position of Counsellor
with a local support agency in my local area. I have
also received an acceptance from the Southern Cross
University to study a Bachelor of Social Science, made
only possible by my Diploma of Professional Counselling
through the A.I.P.C.
I have come to the conclusion that to be able to give my clients the best
possible support service that I can, Is to continue
my education with the A.I.P.C. I will look forward to
upcoming seminars and areas of further education, enabling
me to enhance my skills and knowledge as a Counsellor.
