Corporate Training Division
Are you employed in a role that includes a lot of interaction with other employees?
Are you responsible for ‘getting the best’ out of employees so that deadlines and targets are met?
Is too much of your work time taken up with resolving workplace conflicts?
If you have answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then we have the program for you!

As Australia’s largest and preferred supplier of counselling education, the Institute has known for some time about the benefit of applying higher level communication and counselling skills to workplaces.

In today’s business world, business leaders and management have a focus upon improving productivity and efficiency to continually improve business performance and exceed market demands. With all workplaces being comprised of a social organisation that includes all employees, productivity and efficiency achieved in the workplace is often influenced by the motivation, work practices and efficiency of work teams and their employees. It is obvious that the culture of the social organisation in the workplace directly affects the productivity of the workplace.

By positively influencing the social organisation by applying high level communication and counselling skills, the productivity and efficiency of work teams can be improved. The Institute’s Corporate Training Division has been established to offer a program to companies and businesses called Counselling for the Workplace. The objective of the program is to assist business, line and human resources managers and staff with acquiring the know-how and practical skills to utilise their most valuable resource to its complete potential: employees. At the Institute, we call this ‘social productivity’.

The Corporate Training Division’s Counselling for the Workplace Program includes such topics as:

  • Interpersonal skills
  • Solving problems
  • Developing assertiveness
  • Interview skills
  • Enhancing workplace communication
  • Resolving workplace conflicts
  • Facilitating groups

These topics have been carefully selected and tailored from the Institute’s acclaimed and nationally recognised training qualification, Diploma of Professional Counselling. The Program teaches participants the acquisition and use of communication and counselling skills effectively in the workplace and focuses on the application of these skills to contemporary workplace situations. The Program can be undertaken on an individual or group basis and consists of two three-hour sessions.
